A tour in the heart of Lebanon’s Nature Reserves
Be enchanted by the charming quiet beauty of samples of paradise in Lebanon’s nature reserves. Lebanon is a gift of biodiversity; thus, in order to preserve the specimens we have created several Nature Reserves. Therefore, the lovers of nature are invited to take memories and leave only footprints. During your hike in Al-Shouf Reserve, carefully observe magical colors Mediterranean shrubs, grasses, herbs, or simply marvel at majesty cedars the gallery distinctive flora fauna that attracts a variety of mammals and migrating birds. Like wise, a variety of plants, birds, insects, and rare mammals flourish in the Horsh Ehden Reserve with glimpses of unique trees rare flora endangered mammals. Enjoy Tannourine Nature Reserve, a forested mountain environment, home to over 60,000 ancient cedar trees, as well as a variety of pines, poplars, and other tree species. The region is also rich in natural springs and lakes, and has a high concentration of caves and sinkholes.
If you are enchanted by marine ecology, be sure that you are going to spend some time in the Palm Islands Reserve, comprising three uninhabited islands located in the Mediterranean marine ecosystem. Another destination for exploring Lebanon’s coastal ecosystem is the Tyre coastal Reserve, Other Nature Reserves in Lebanon include the Bentael Reserve a large pine forsest near Byblos and the Yammouneh Reserve a freshwater lake in the southern Bekaa Valley with a large cavern and ancient Roman temple ruins. In addition to the mentioned wonders of the nature you are going to explore other Protected Areas scattered throughout the country.
