SRI International worked collaboratively with its Lebanese partner, the Social and Cultural Development Association (INMA) to create the DestinationLebanon website, under the sponsorship of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Webserv, a Lebanese website development company, carried out the design and development of the site. This website is part of a broader, multi-year USAID project to expand economic opportunities for people living in rural areas of Lebanon.

The DestinationLebanon website was launched in April 2004. In June 2006, the Lebanon Ministry of Tourism assumed official sponsorship of and responsibility for the DestinationLebanon website.
